Jose Alvarado Suspended Three Games Over Friday Incident
Jose Alvarado has been suspended for three games for his actions in Friday's game against the Mets, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. Alvarado got into a shouting match with Mets first baseman Dominic Smith after striking him out on Friday, which led to a benches-clearing incident. Zolecki reports that Alvarado will appeal his suspension. Over eight innings of work this season, Alvarado is 2-0 with one save, a 1.13 ERA and 13 strikeouts.
