Jonathan India Suffers Setback, Shut Down For Two Weeks
1 year agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India (foot) felt pain while running and is getting a second opinion on his injured left foot. As a result, he's been shut down from running for at least two weeks, according to manager David Bell. India will now have an early-to-mid-September return as his likely target. The 26-year-old was expected to return from the injured list earlier this week, but that obviously didn't happen, and now India won't return until next month. It's a tough break for fantasy managers expecting to get India back this week, as he's had a strong season with a .251/.336/.409 slash line and 14 home runs, 52 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 68 runs scored in 394 at-bats. The Reds will likely continue to use rookie Matt McLain at the keystone until India is able to return.
