Jonathan India Could Start Rehab Assignment On Friday
1 year agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India (foot) could start a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Friday, with a return from the 10-day injured list on Sept. 12 a possibility. India's foot is pain-free, but he's had a deliberate buildup to try and prevent a re-injury of plantar fasciitis in his left foot that would likely end his season prematurely. The Reds could really use India back, especially with rookie infielder Matt McLain (oblique) also currently on the injured list. Until India is able to return, the Reds will continue to roll with Spencer Steer at the keystone. India was having a fine season before his foot injury, hitting .251/.336/.409 with 14 home runs, 52 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 68 runs scored in 394 at-bats.
