Jasson Dominguez Hitting Fifth In MLB Debut
1 year agoNew York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez is making his major-league debut on Friday, playing center field and batting fifth in the order against the Houston Astros and right-hander Justin Verlander. Dominguez is only 20 years but has an incredibly high ceiling at the major-league level. The Yankees' No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, should also be a regular in center field for the rest of the 2023 season, making him worth a pickup in all fantasy leagues down the stretch. The player they call The Martian hit a combined .265/.377/.425 with an .802 OPS, 15 home runs, 22 doubles, three triples, 76 RBI, 40 stolen bases and 89 runs scored in 118 games with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Dominican switch-hitter has all the tools to be the future face of the franchise who can hit for average and power and steal bases.
