Jarren Duran To Undergo MRI Exam Tuesday
1 year agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran (toe) will undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday. In the meantime, the Red Sox are considering calling up outfield prospect Wilyer Abreu, the team's No. 17 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. If Duran's MRI results don't look good, it's possible they'll put him on the injured list and call up Abreu. The 26-year-old has been plenty valuable in all fantasy leagues in his third MLB season in 2023, mainly for his speed, as he's slashing .295/.346/.482 with an .828 OPS, eight home runs, 40 RBI, 24 stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 102 games (362 plate appearances). Adam Duvall should be the team's regular center fielder until Duran is able to return. Abreu, a 24-year-old left-handed hitter, has hit .274 (82-for-299) with 22 long balls, 65 RBI, eight steals and 67 runs scored this year for Triple-A Worcester.
