Jake Rogers Injured On Friday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers (elbow) was removed from Friday's Grapefruit League game against the New York Yankees early after being drilled on his left elbow by a pitch. He was replaced by Andrew Knapp. Hopefully Rogers' injury isn't very serious, as he came into the day hitting a solid .333 (7-for-21) with two doubles, three home runs, three RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base in 11 spring contests. The 27-year-old missed all of last year while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, and his fantasy appeal will be limited in 2023 behind Eric Haase in Detroit. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere in two-catcher leagues, as Rogers has a career batting average under .200 in his time in the big leagues.
