Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner had two assists during Saturday's 4-2 win over the Washington Capitals. Fellow rearguard Morgan Rielly has become the top fantasy option on the Maple Leafs' backend, but Gardiner is still capable of putting up points. The 28-year-old put up 52 points in 82 games last season and has four assists through six games in 2018-19. Rielly has taken over Gardiner's position on the PP1, which severely hurts his fantasy value. Regardless, Gardiner can be utilized as a D3 for fantasy purposes.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
