Jaguars, Evan Engram Agree On Three-Year Extension
1 year agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars and franchise-tagged tight end Evan Engram agreed to a three-year, $42.5 million contract extension on Sunday, according to his agent, Mike McCartney. The Jaguars lock Engram up for the long term with head coach Doug Pederson and quarterback Trevor Lawrence after he had a career-high 73 catches for 766 yards and four touchdowns in 17 regular season games (14 starts). The 28-year-old was given the $11.35 million franchise tag earlier this offseason, but that won't matter now. Engram put himself firmly in the TE1 picture in fantasy last year, although his targets could take a hit in 2023 with new wide receiver Calvin Ridley now in the picture. The former first-rounder has never really been much of a red-zone weapon, either, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect better numbers from Engram in 2023.
