2 years agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (side) is expected to throw two more bullpen sessions before he makes his Cactus League debut. Catcher Mitch Garver, who caught deGrom's bullpen on Sunday, was impressed with the right-hander. "Very special fastball," Garver said. "It looks different than anybody I've ever caught before. Seeing him come down the mound like that … he was probably 85 percent, which is impressive by itself." After experiencing some left side soreness early in camp, the 34-year-old is now on track to be ready for Opening Day, barring any further setbacks. deGrom is surely an injury risk after dealing with plenty of injuries in recent seasons, but he's also still a fantasy ace when healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
