Jacob deGrom Improving
2 years agoTexas Rangers general manager Chris Young said that right-hander Jacob deGrom (side) has been improving and wanted to throw on Saturday, but the team is being extra cautious. If all goes well, deGrom will play catch on Sunday. The 34-year-old is being brought along very slowly given all of his injuries in recent seasons, and he won't pitch in Cactus League games in the first week of spring training games. As long as everything goes well with his next throwing session, deGrom should continue to build back up for the 2023 season. deGrom is one of the most dominant pitchers in the sport when he's healthy, but he hasn't gone over 15 starts in any of the last three seasons due to injuries. He's a big risk/reward top-10 fantasy starting pitcher in his first year in Texas.
