Isiah Pacheco Expected To Be The Starter
1 year agoKansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (hand, shoulder) is ahead of the team's recovery timetable after rehabbing from surgeries to fix a broken bone in his left hand and a torn labrum in his shoulder this offseason, although the Chiefs don't know when he'll make his training camp debut. He said he's "feeling great right now" after Wednesday's practice. Pacheco became the starter midway through his rookie season in 2022 and led the team with 830 rushing yards and five TDs. The team is optimistic he'll receive enough full-contact work during camp to be available for the Week 1 season opener on Sept. 7. In 2023, the 24-year-old is expected to be the starter and handle an increased workload. Pacheco will lose valuable pass-catching reps to Jerick McKinnon, but he'll enter the year as the Chiefs' most attractive fantasy back.
