Irv Smith Jr. Has Been Impressive This Offseason
1 year agoCincinnati Bengals tight end Irv Smith Jr. has looked impressive this offseason, and he'll be the team's third different starter in three years at the tight end position in 2023. "Forget about the talent. He's a talented guy. We knew that's what we've seen on tape so that didn't surprise me in anyway," head coach Zac Taylor said. "But I think just how quickly he's integrated himself has been really impressive." The 24-year-old former second-round pick was forced to share work with Kyle Rudolph in his time with the Vikings and also just could never get going because of injuries that caused him to miss 26 games in the last two seasons. If Smith can manage to stay on the field in Cincinnati, he could do some damage in this offense with quarterback Joe Burrow throwing him the ball. He's absolutely worth a late-round TE2 flier in deeper leagues.
