Hyun Jin Ryu Tosses Three Innings In Rehab Start
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu (elbow) pitched in his first game action since having Tommy John surgery and allowed one run on four hits while walking none and striking out five in three innings in the Florida Complex League on Tuesday. Barring a setback as Ryu continues to build up his arm, he has a chance to contribute significant innings for the Blue Jays in the second half of the 2023 season. The 36-year-old southpaw will need to make at least a handful of more starts in the minor leagues before Toronto is ready to activate him from the injured list, but this was a good start. The Blue Jays could ease Ryu back by using him out of the bullpen initially, and fantasy managers shouldn't expect a ton right away.
