Hunter Greene To Make His Next Start Sunday
1 year agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene (illness) will return to the starting rotation to face the visiting St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. Greene went on the COVID injured list last Friday but is asymptomatic and has rejoined the team in Cincinnati. The 24-year-old recently returned from the 60-day injured list on Aug. 30 and has allowed 15 runs (13 earned) on 18 hits (five home runs) while walking nine and striking out 14 in 12 innings pitched in three starts. While the matchup is nice and the hard-throwing hurler has plenty of strikeout upside, Greene won't be without risk in his return this weekend. On the year, he's gone 3-6 with a 4.75 ERA (4.30 FIP), 1.48 WHIP, 40 walks and 114 strikeouts in 85 1/3 innings over 17 starts in his second-big league campaign.
