Baltimore Orioles general manager Mike Elias said that outfielder Heston Kjerstad (hamstring) has a high-grade hamstring strain that will keep him out for eight to 12 weeks. Kjerstad will not need surgery but will require extended rest before returning to game action. The Orioles No. 9 prospect suffered the injury in an intrasquad game. Kjerstad didn't play in 2021 due to heart inflammation, so this is another injury setback for the 23-year-old. He was selected second overall in the 2020 draft, but he has yet to make his professional debut. Kjerstad was viewed as the best left-handed bat in his draft class, but he remains a bit of an unknown until we actually see him play in the minor leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
