Anthony Volpe Retreats to the Bench
New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. After missing six games due to a left shoulder injury, Volpe returned to the lineup on Tuesday. He did fairly well at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, walk, and an RBI. Despite the solid performance, Volpe will head to the bench a day later. Maybe, the Yankees want to be cautious with Volpe considering he was out with a partially torn labrum. Regardless, Jose Caballero will take over at shortstop and bat ninth against right-hander Taj Bradley on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should check back on Thursday to see if Volpe is back in the mix for that one.
