The Athletics announced Sunday that they transferred right-hander Gunnar Hoglund (hip) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL. They selected the contract of righty Jack Perkins from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned RHP Anthony Maldonado to Triple-A in corresponding moves. The Hoglund move was expected after he underwent season-ending hip surgery earlier this month. The 25-year-old made six starts for the Athletics this season and struggled to a 6.40 ERA with 23:11 K:BB over 32 1/3 innings. Hoglund, MLB Pipeline's 14th-ranked A's prospect, is expected to make a full recovery in time for 2026.--Connor Byrne
