Giancarlo Stanton Sitting Tuesday
1 year agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is not in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. Aaron Judge is still serving as the designated hitter and batting second, while Jake Bauers is in right field and hitting leadoff against Rays right-hander Zach Eflin. Stanton has started the last 18 games, so it's a good time for him to take a little break after hitting under .200 over that stretch. The 33-year-old slugger continues to sacrifice contact for power. Stanton is currently hitting just .198 with a .274 on-base percentage, 14 home runs and 35 RBI on the season in 207 at-bats. In the month of July, he hit .198 (17-for-86) with seven homers, two doubles, 16 RBI and 12 runs scored in 23 games.
