George Springer Likely Out Longer Than 10 Days
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (quadriceps) isn't expected to be ready to return to the lineup when his latest stint on the 10-day injured list ends on May 13, according to general manager Ross Atkins. Springer aggravated his strained right quadriceps and had been out of the lineup for two days before undergoing an MRI exam on Wednesday. He didn't make his team debut until April 28 because of a strained oblique and later the quad injury. The 2017 World Series MVP hit two home runs on Saturday but also felt pain while running out a ground ball. Springer was the designated hitter in all four games he's played in and will have a "minimal workload" as he tries to recover from his latest setback. The 31-year-old has been a huge disappointment for fantasy managers so far this year.
