Eugenio Suarez Getting a Day Off
Eugenio Suarez will get a day of rest in Game 2 of the series against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. Shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar will make the start at third and will bat ninth against Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto. It will be Suarez's second day off of the season. Although the 33-year-old Venezuelan continues to strike out at a high clip, he's produced big power numbers so far in 2025 and ranks tied for fifth in baseball in home runs (14), tied for fourth in RBI (38) and tied for 21st in runs scored (30) while hitting just .215 (37-for-172). He has gone 16-for-67 (.239) with four homers and 18 RBI in 18 games so far in May. Lawlar has lots of long-term fantasy upside as Arizona's shortstop of the future, but he's still searching for his first MLB hit in his fourth game with the Snakes.
