Elieser Hernandez Returns On Thursday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez (bicep) was activated from the injured list and will get the start in Thursday's series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hernandez was forced to leave his first start of the season with a biceps injury but made it through his rehab unscathed and is ready to rejoin the Marlins rotation. According to manager Don Mattingly, Hernandez will serve as an opener in this one, so he's not expected to pitch deep into the game. Still, the Marlins were desperately in need of starting pitching, so having Hernandez back makes for a stronger rotation overall. Luis Marte was designated for assignment to make roster room for Hernandez's return.
