Dodgers Hope Clayton Kershaw Can Go In Game 4
4 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are hopeful that starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (back), who was scratched from his Game 2 start in the National League Championship Series against the Braves due to back spasms, will be able to pitch in Game 4 on Thursday. Kershaw recovered enough to play catch on Tuesday and did his typical bullpen work without actually throwing. Manager Dave Roberts said the likelihood of Kershaw starting in the series "is very good." Julio Urias is likely to get the Game 3 assignment, as Dustin May was ruled out after throwing 1 2/3 innings of relief in Game 1 on Monday. Kershaw's velocity had been up this year, but his velocity dropped in Game 2 of the NLDS in which he allowed back-to-back home runs to the Padres. The All-Star left-hander was fantastic in 2020, but he'll be a much bigger DFS risk coming off his back spasms in Game 4 against Atlanta.
