Didi Gregorius Returning Friday
6 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow) is expected to be activated from the injured list and return to the starting lineup on Friday against the Indians for his season debut. Gregorius is returning from Tommy John surgery last October and should be owned in all leagues as a potential difference-maker at the position. The team is expected to play Gregorius in two of every three-game series to ease him back in, with Gleyber Torres filling in at shortstop in addition to second base. Torres and third baseman Giovanny Urshela will both rest twice a week, allowing DJ LeMahieu to pick up starts. Gregorius hit .268 last year in 134 games with a career-high 27 homers, 86 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
