The Arizona Diamondbacks, along with the Los Angeles Dodgers, have inquired about Chicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito, according to sources. The White Sox are going to be sellers ahead of the Aug. 1 trade deadline, and Giolito is one of their most attractive pieces. Arizona has already lost its lead on the National League West early in the second half, and their lack of quality rotation depth is a glaring issue. If they are going to seriously contend for a playoff spot the rest of the way, they'll need to upgrade there. The 29-year-old Giolito has gone 6-6 in 2023 with a 3.96 ERA (4.56 FIP), 1.19 WHIP, 39 walks and 122 strikeouts in 20 starts (116 innings). A recent poor outing against the Mets in which he gave up eight runs in 3 2/3 innings ruined an otherwise strong stretch for Giolito since May 25.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
