The Los Angeles Chargers plan to promote secondary coach Derrick Ansley to defensive coordinator and Tommy Donatell to secondary coach/passing-game coordinator, according to sources. It comes after former defensive coordinator Renaldo Hill, who had been with the team the last two years, left to join the Miami Dolphins on a multi-year deal. Head coach Brandon Staley will continue to call the plays on the defensive side of the ball. Ansley spent two years with the University of Tennessee as defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2019 and 2020 while coaching the Chargers' defensive backs the last two years. Donatell, who is the son of former Vikings defensive coordinator Ed Donatell, has spent the last two years as LA's assistant secondary coach. He previously worked for the Seahawks as a quality control coach from 2017-20.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
