Derek Dietrich Sitting Out Friday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman/outfielder Derek Dietrich is getting the day off Friday. After never hitting more than 16 home runs in a season, Dietrich has been an absolute revelation for the Reds so far, already surpassing his career high in home runs through only 53 games. It hasn't been all smooth sailing, though, as all of the 29-year-old's home runs and all but one of his 35 RBI have come against right-handed pitching this season. With lefty Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Nationals, Kyle Farmer will bat eighth and man second. Farmer is batting .290 against left-handed pitching this season but doesn't bring much value on Friday.
