Danny Jansen Serving As DH In Game 1
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen will serve as the designated hitter and will bat eighth on Friday in Game 1 of the American League Wild-Card Series against the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Luis Castillo. Jansen has some pop in his bat for a catcher, as he slugged a career-high 15 home runs in 72 games for Toronto this year, also adding a .260/.339/.516 slash line with an .855 OPS, 44 RBI, 34 runs scored and a stolen base. Jansen enters the playoffs on a hot streak at the plate, too, going 8-for-24 (.333) with two home runs, seven RBI and four runs scored in the last seven games of the regular season.
