Daniel Vogelbach Slims Down
2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman/designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach estimated that he lost 20 to 25 pounds this offseason after he was listed at 270 pounds in 2022. "Obviously watching what I eat, but just working out and doing my routine," Vogelbach said. "I wasn't really that focused on one particular thing. Just coming in and making sure that I was in shape and ready to play from Day 1." In 55 games for the Mets last year after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Vogelbach hit .255/.393/.436 with six homers and 25 RBI as mostly a DH. He'll open camp as the team's primary lefty DH again this year, with Darin Ruf, Tommy Pham and Mark Vientos being options from the right side. Vogelbach will give fantasy managers some late power and a strong on-base percentage in the strong side of a platoon.
