Corey Conners had a disappointing first three days at The Sony Open. The 30-year-old Canadian was stuck in neutral for much of the tournament before he fired a 64 on Sunday to finish in 11th place. Conners' strokes-gained data is impressive from Waialae. He gained 5.9 strokes on approach and 6.8 from tee-to-green. Although limited, he comes to La Quinta with poor course history. In two starts, Conners has a missed cut and a 50th-place finish. Conners' projected ownership is lower compared to others in his price range. Ball-striking is needed to do well this week, and Conners excels in that category. Conners makes for a great pivot off other chalky golfers and could be a solid GPP play.--Rob Giltner - RotoBaller
