Clayton Kershaw Scratched From Game 2 Versus Braves
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (back) has been scratched from Game 2 of the National League Championship Series against the Braves because of back spasms. Rookie Tony Gonsolin will start in Kershaw's place. It's a big loss for the Dodgers after Kershaw put up a 2.16 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and a 7.75 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 58 1/3 innings this season. The All-Star left-hander was also scratched just hours before his Opening Day start. Gonsolin has been excellent in his rookie season, though, posting a 2.31 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and a 6.57 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his 46 2/3 innings in 2020. Julio Urias will likely be the starter in Game 3. Despite Gonsolin's solid rookie season, he'll be a risky DFS pick against Atlanta and might have a short leash.
