Chase Elliott starts ninth for the Bank of America Roval 400 on Sunday but is already in the Round of 8. That is because the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver won at Talladega last week. The No. 9 car has won six road races in the last three years but has not won one this year. How long does it take for the competitive juices to kick in? Elliott said all the right things this week, but his 4.7 average finish and two wins in the past three races say otherwise.
