Chas McCormick Retreats To The Bench Monday
1 year agoHouston Astros outfielder Chas McCormick is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians. Jake Meyers will get the start in center field and will bat ninth in the order against Guardians right-hander Noah Syndergaard. It's about time for McCormick to take a day off after starting in the team's last 19 games. The 28-year-old has been very hot in July, too, going 27-for-77 (.351) with six home runs, four doubles, two triples, 23 RBI, three stolen bases and 16 runs scored in 22 games played. McCormick has been a solid contributor across all categories in his third big-league season, slashing .285/.372/.526 with 13 homers, 44 RBI, 11 steals and 35 runs scored in 228 at-bats. Get him back into fantasy lineups when he returns on Tuesday.
