Charlie Morton Going In Game 4 For Atlanta
2 years agoAtlanta Braves right-hander Charlie Morton will make the start in Game 4 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. With rookie Spencer Strider (oblique) getting the nod in Game 3 on Friday, Morton will be pushed back a day in the series. The 38-year-old veteran had a rough finish to the regular season and finished the year 9-6 with a 4.34 ERA (4.26 FIP), a 1.23 WHIP and a 205:63 K:BB in 172 innings over his 31 starts for Atlanta. The two-time All-Star has extensive playoff experience and faced the Phillies for five starts this year, allowing 17 runs (16 earned) on 31 hits while walking 11 and striking out 26 in 26 1/3 innings of work. Morton went 0-1 against them with a 5.47 ERA.
