Charley Hoffman did play a bit better over the final two tournaments of the FedEx Cup. After a four-tournament run that culminated in the American golfer missing the cut at The Open Championship, Hoffman rebounded. He finished 21st and 38th, after ties. His overall strokes gained of 1.194 ranked 17th on tour. Furthermore, he does have above-average putting and averaged 4.2 birdies per round (20th). The key for Hoffman is his work around the green which is below average (barely in the top 150 over the summer). If he can just avoid trouble on his approaches, Hoffman has a chance, albeit slim one, this weekend. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
