Carlos Carrasco Expected To Make Season Debut On Friday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) is expected to make his season debut on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. Marcus Stroman/Rich Hill will go on Saturday/Sunday in some order. Carrasco missed the first four months of the 2021 season with hamstring issues, but he's finally ready to make his team and season debut this weekend. The veteran right-hander struck out six in three scoreless innings in his last rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse. Carrasco should be rostered in most fantasy leagues because of his track record in the big leagues, but you may want to be cautious with how you deploy him initially. It wouldn't be a big surprise if he doesn't go long enough to qualify for a win in his first outing of the year, which makes him a poor streaming choice.
