Byron Buxton Approaching Rehab Assignment
5 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (wrist) is getting close to going on a rehab assignment, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. “There are a few spots in the zone where he still feels the deep bruise, and it’s still maybe bothering him a little bit,” Baldelli said. “But I think he’s getting close to the point where he can go out there and face some live pitching.” The plan is for Buxton to hit again on Wednesday. The oft-injured 25-year-old was making good on his upside before getting injured, hitting .266/.324/.527 with nine home runs, 40 runs, 38 RBI and 10 stolen bases. On a very good Twins team with his power/speed combination, Buxton needs to be owned everywhere. He could return sometime next week if all goes well.
