Buccaneers Hire Dave Canales As New Offensive Coordinator
2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Dave Canales as their new offensive coordinator on Wednesday, according to sources. Canales spent the last 13 seasons as an assistant coach on Pete Carroll's staff in college at USC and in Seattle and will now head to Tampa to run head coach Todd Bowles' offense. The biggest question on offense in 2023 for the Bucs is who will replace Tom Brady under center? Canales played a massive role in the rise of Geno Smith for the Seahawks in 2022. Tampa is expected to have a complete reconstruction of their offense, with Canales pulling a lot of the strings. Seattle's offense ranked ninth in scoring last year, while the Buccaneers were at No. 25.
