Bryce Harper Goes Off Wednesday
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman/designated hitter Bryce Harper blew up at the plate in the team's 9-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, two RBI, three runs scored and a walk. Games like this have been very rare for Harper in 2023, and it's actually his first multi-homer game of the season. The 30-year-old has managed to hit for average this year (.291), but the power has been seriously lacking -- he's now up to only nine long balls on the year after hitting two on Wednesday night. The former MVP could be ready to finish with a bang in 2023, though, as he's hitting .302 (16-for-53) with four homers, six doubles, nine RBI and 10 runs scored in 14 starts so far in August.
