Broncos Looking At Free-Agent Running Backs
5 years agoThe Denver Broncos are doing their due diligence on this year's free-agent crop of running backs, according to sources. Adding another running back wouldn't necessarily mean a lesser role for running back Phillip Lindsay, but it would definitely be bad news for Royce Freeman, who saw his role shrink towards the end of last year. The Broncos are looking for a back to complement Lindsay. Titans running back Derrick Henry is expected to receive the franchise tag. Other top backs eligible for free agency include Kenyan Drake, Jordan Howard, Melvin Gordon and Carlos Hyde. Denver also had interviews with rookie running back prospects J.K. Dobbins, Cam Akers, Ke'Shawn Vaughn and A.J. Dillon. Denver finished 20th in the league in 2019 with 103.9 yards a game, so they are definitely looking to improve in the backfield.
