1 year agoColorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Lance Lynn. Rodgers is serving as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup, with Harold Castro starting at second base and batting in the eight-hole. Believe it or not, Friday's contest will only be Rodgers' seventh of the year after he got a late start after recovering from shoulder surgery. The 27-year-old has been slowed by right-hamstring tightness this week, but he'll be back for the weekend. Rodgers is still looking for the first stolen base of his career in his fifth season, and he'll need to prove himself before fantasy managers take notice in mixed leagues the rest of the way. He has five hits and seven K's in his 25 plate appearances in 2023.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
