Brendan Rodgers May Not Need A Rehab Assignment
6 months agoColorado Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) was out at Coors Field on Monday doing a full day of baseball activities before the series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rockies are still deciding if Rodgers will go on a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque before he is reinstated from the injured list. Once he returns from the IL, rookie infielder Adael Amador is likely to head back to Double-A Hartford to continue his development. The 27-year-old Rodgers is eligible to come off the 10-day IL on Tuesday, but it remains to be seen if that will happen. Either way, he's close to rejoining Colorado as their everyday second baseman. The former first-rounder is having one of his better seasons in the big leagues to this point with a .275 average, three home runs, 22 RBI and 24 runs scored in 59 games.
