Brandon Woodruff to Begin New Rehab Assignment on Wednesday
Brandon Woodruff (ankle, shoulder) simulated multiple innings in a bullpen session on Sunday and is tentatively scheduled to start a new minor-league rehab assignment on Wednesday, according to MLB.com. Woodruff will probably pitch at least two more times in the minors after having a setback during his recovery from right-shoulder surgery with right-ankle tendinitis. The 32-year-old injured his ankle on May 11 in what was expected to be his final rehab appearance, pushing back his 2025 debut. Because of the setback, he probably won't make his season debut in Milwaukee until early June. Expectations must be tempered for Woodruff this year after he missed all of 2024 following shoulder surgery, but the former ace should still be rostered in all fantasy formats and has the potential to help in the second half.
