Bills Pick Up Options On Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds
4 years agoThe Buffalo Bills picked up the fifth-year options for the 2022 season on quarterback Josh Allen and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds on Monday. Neither decision comes as a surprise. Allen, the seventh overall pick in 2018, broke out last year, passing for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns while finishing as the runner-up in the MVP voting. General manager Brandon Beane said a contract extension with Allen could be finished as early as this spring. He'll have a base salary of around $23.1 million fully guaranteed in 2022 and will be a top-tier QB1 this season. Edmunds, 23, is a two-time Pro Bowler and team captain. Like Allen, the Bills are expected to approach Edmunds about a contract extension in the near future. Edmunds will have a base salary of around $12.7 million fully guaranteed in 2022.
