Bears Optimistic Justin Fields Will Play In Week 13
3 years agoChicago Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields (ribs), who missed the Thanksgiving Day win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday with cracked ribs, is expected to be ready to play in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals. Fields has already been doing pull-ups in the weight room and would've been a game-time decision for Week 12 if the game had been on Sunday instead of Thursday. The 22-year-old has yet to throw since suffering fractured ribs in Week 11, but all signs are pointing toward him returning as the starter next week. Andy Dalton filled in against Detroit and went 24-for-39 for 317 yards, one touchdown and one interception, but Fields is the future and also has more fantasy upside because of his rushing ability. He'll return to being a QB2 if he gets cleared for Week 13.
