Austin Gomber Dealing With Forearm Tightness
Austin Gomber (forearm) left his start early on Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers due to left forearm tightness. In just two innings before exiting, Gomber had allowed two runs on four hits while striking out one. The Rockies ended up losing the game by a score of 6-5. The 27-year-old left-hander is now 6-5 on the season with a 3.68 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with 76 strikeouts and 23 walks in 15 starts over 78 1/3 frames. Gomber has a nice .211 opponent's batting average and is defying logic with a 1.48 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and a .167 opponent's batting average at home at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Unfortunately for fantasy managers that have been riding Gomber's strong season, he may wind up missing at least one start or landing on the injured list. Stay tuned for more updates.
