Anthony Rendon Moved To 60-Day Injured List
1 year agoThe Los Angeles Angels transferred infielder Anthony Rendon (shin) to the 60-day injured list on Friday amid a flurry of roster moves. The move means that Rendon won't be able to return to the team until Sept. 9, at the earliest, after suffering a deep bone bruise on his left shin in early July when he fouled a ball off his leg. The Angels were planning to shut down the 33-year-old from baseball activities for a couple of weeks, and now he'll have a bit longer to heal up before possibly returning. Rendon has been a massive disappointment since coming to Anaheim in 2020, as he has a combined 22 home runs in just 200 games after hitting a career-high 34 homers in his final season with the Washington Nationals in 2019. Until he returns, Mike Moustakas and Eduardo Escobar will continue sharing playing time at the hot corner.
