Anthony DeSclafani Says He's 100 Percent
2 years agoSan Francisco Giants right-hander Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) said he is fully healthy in spring training and intends to bounce back this year after being limited to five starts in 2022 after having season-ending ankle surgery. DeSclafani had an ERA over 6.00 in his 19 innings pitched last year, too, so it was all bad. The 32-year-old should have a spot in the team's starting rotation if he makes it through spring training healthy. He had the best season of his career in 2021, posting a 3.17 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 152 strikeouts in 167 2/3 innings, though, so a bounce-back is possible if he's fully healthy this year. You can probably leave DeSclafani to the waiver wire in shallow mixed leagues to begin the season, but he could be an early waiver-wire pickup if his form looks to be closer to that of his 2021 self.
