The Los Angeles Angels selected St. Elizabeth Catholic High School outfielder David Calabrese with the 82nd overall pick in the third round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. That was followed up with Detroit Edison High School shortstop Werner Blakely in the fourth round and Long Beach State pitcher Adam Seminaris in the fifth round. Calabrese is small (5-foot-11, 160 pounds) but is a lefty gap-to-gap hitter with great speed. He's only 17 years old and was committed to Arkansas. Blakely is also a lefty hitter who batted .467 with 10 doubles, four homers, 34 RBI and 24 steals in his junior season. He's extremely athletic but raw with his tools. Seminaris, a southpaw, has great pitchability with a four-pitch mix and deception in his delivery. He's a potential back-end starting pitcher at the next level.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
