Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin (lower body) was unavailable for the first time this season on Saturday against the Rangers. He was a game-time call for a second consecutive contest and didn't take the ice after playing through a lower-body ailment on Thursday versus Seattle. Ovechkin extended his point streak to six games against the Kraken, and he has recently boosted his productivity noticeably, getting to 27 points (eight goals, 19 assists) for the season with 39 games played.
