Alex Kirilloff Out With Sore Shoulder
1 year agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Alex Kirilloff (shoulder) is out of Wednesday's starting lineup against the visiting Seattle Mariners with a sore shoulder that he tweaked on a diving play on Tuesday, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. Kirilloff will get Wednesday and Thursday off and then probably the last game against the Kansas City Royals this weekend off against a left-hander. With another off day next Monday, the hope is that getting four of the next six days off will help. Matt Wallner is starting in right field on Wednesday and is hitting cleanup for the Twins against Mariners rookie right-hander Bryce Miller. Kirilloff has hit well in 67 games (250 plate appearances) in 2023, batting .275/.364/.454 with eight homers, 13 doubles, a triple, 32 RBI and 23 runs scored.
